Literature Text

The complications of a youthful heart
Unsure of the certainty it desires to take.
And, but, at night
Weeps silenced tears
For a choking emotion
That could barely find voice,
and keeps her away from a night's repose.
Such,
that it deprices her of laced dreams
and keeps her eyes busy
unblinking
contemplating
the sea of cloth -
a playground of shadows from outside
intruding her privacy on her queen sized bed
yet, the sheets remain
    uncrimpled, kempt
    due to an absence

A space for her hand to finger the nothingness it represents.
This poem was written on 10-10-06 and was a bit revised on 11-15-06. I wrote this during one instance when I couldn't sleep and a lot of things kept going in and out of my head all of the sudden which I have to entertain all at the same time. Sometimes it feels like these things really matter, but when daybreak comes and I rethink them, they don't seem to make sense at all.
